Diabetes is used as case study to assess the variation in the number of ambulatory assistance and its influence in admissions for diabetes and commonly associated conditions (ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular conditions and hypertension). Yearly date at the municipal level was used to implement a differences in differences estimation. The programs positively affects the number of physical activity lessons provided in the community, and suggests possible contributions to the coordination of care.
