ensino superior online.
This study examines whether the outcomes of teacher evaluations regarding the implementation of Student-Centered Learning (SCL), conducted by students at the end of each course, and the academic performance of students as measured by final grades, were significantly impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic, given that schools had to swiftly adapt to synchronous online teaching formats. At a private higher education institution, the results of teacher evaluations concerning SCL practices across sixty courses were analyzed for the periods before and during the pandemic. Classes were respectively delivered in in-person and online formats during these periods. Final grades of students enrolled in these courses were also compared across the same periods. The study is pertinent to the institution, which places SCL as one of the cornerstones of its educational approach. The findings pinpoint the areas where the school should concentrate its efforts to enhance performance or introduce new practices. This research drew upon an exclusive database containing student evaluations of the learning methods employed at the conclusion of each assessed course within the higher education programs. The study also incorporated final student assessments, represented here by Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs, catering to experienced management professionals seeking to cultivate leadership skills. The research results can serve as a benchmark for the institution, allowing it to leverage this information to recommend or fine-tune SCL practices in its online higher education programs, or for any business school aiming to refine or implement SCL practices in online higher education programs.
