In response to the Covid pandemic, the Brazilian government implemented in April 2020 an Emergency Aid Transfer program (EAT) benefiting 68 million individuals with a transfer of R$600, equivalent to 66% of the median wages, to mitigate the effects of the pandemic and allow beneficiaries to stay at home and avoid contamination and death. We evaluate the impact of this program on women labor supply using new longitudinal data and find a small negative short-run impact of the program, around 3 percentage points. The effect is higher for single women and for single-mothers who receive a higher transfer, but declines after the transfer value is reduced and disappears six months after the first transfer. We conclude that unconditional transfer programs can have small labor supply effects, even in the middle of a pandemic.pt_BR
