dc.description.otherThe reorganization plan is one of the most important elements in reorganization bankruptcy processes. It is a roadmap for the firm’s turnaround and the core element whose feasibility the court assess in order to decide on the request for bankruptcy protection. Examining a set of reorganization plans presented by publicly held companies in Brazil, we investigate the connection between the plan’s strategic components and firm performance. We find that a good diagnosis of the factors causing the crisis and the clear identification of the competitive strengths of the firm are positively related to the improvement of the financial situation of the company. On the other hand, reorganization plans that bring only resource analysis are associated with the decline of the financial situation of the company.pt_BR
