Resumo
O presente estudo investiga o impacto do programa Crescer Aprendendo,
Dez
amostra final.
The present study investigates the impact of the Grow Learning program, developed by the NGO United Way, as an early childhood intervention aimed at empowering parents and teachers with essential tools to promote children's cognitive and socioemotional development. Using a randomized pilot study design, we examine whether the program is effective in changing teachers' and parents' perceptions of the importance of developmental activities in early childhood. Additionally, we seek to assess whether the program influences the engagement and time dedicated by parents and teachers to these activities. We detail the sampling and program implementation procedures, focusing on children aged four to five years old. To do so, we developed specific questionnaires to identify beliefs and collect data on parents' time use. The research was conducted in 20 preschools in the municipality of Sobral, Ceará. We conducted baseline assessments and subsequently studied the heterogeneous effects of treatment after program implementation. Ten schools were randomly selected to participate in the program for seven months in 2023. In each school, two classes were randomly chosen, and we interviewed the respective teachers and three parents from each class. At the end of the process, complete information was obtained from 127 baseline interviews and 133 followup interviews.
