| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalhou verificou o impacto de uma regulamentação da União Europeia no âmbito de substâncias químicas em vigor desde 2007. Dado a sua complexidade discute-se sobre sua semelhança a uma barreira não tarifária e características protecionistas. Entretanto, utilizando dados agregados de exportação, verificou-se que não houve impacto no comércio entre os dois países no período de 2003 a 2015. Portanto a indústria química brasileira conseguiu se adaptar para enquadrar suas exportações. Futuramente pode-se explorar com dados desagregados no nível das firmas se o impacto na realidade foi por porte de empresas, favorecendo as médias, grandes, multinacionais, excluindo algumas empresas do mercado. | pt_BR |
| dc.description.other | This study was aimed at measuring the impact of European Union’s REACH regulation applied to chemical substances enforced in 2007. Since this regulation was a breakthrough in Chemical regulations worldwide, the discussion goes from its similarities to a non-tariff measure and protectionism. However, by using aggregated exports data from 2003 to 2015, no impact has been statistically significant. Therefore, it seems the Brazilian Chemical Industry was able to adapt itself to this regulation. This work sets ground to future studies to explore this impact using disaggregate data at firm level, since the size at capital ownership of the firm could eventually show that small national firms have been excluded from the export markets and thus leaving ground to bigger multinationals firms, therefore showing no-impact on the aggregated data. | pt_BR |
