The objective of this work is to analyze the impact of digital reading platforms on students' school performance. An analysis was made of the average performance in the 2019 Portuguese language SAEB test of fifth-year students from schools that adopted a digital reading platform in relation to schools that did not. To perform this comparison, a propensity score matching model was used in order to isolate the effect of adopting the digital reading platform on student performance. We conclude that there is a positive and statistically significant impact in the adoption of the digital reading platform for these fifth-year students, but it would be necessary to refine the calculation of the PSM coefficient for future more robust analyses.
